Job site specifics
Do I need to have electricity available at the job site?
No. While it is helpful in the construction of your project, our crew is equipped with a generator. There will be an additional charge for use of our generator. We would strongly encourage you to at least have some type of temporary power available.
Do I have to have a level building site?
No. It's not necessary for your site to be perfectly level to construct a post frame building. However, it's in your best interest that the site be slightly higher and as level as possible to allow for proper drainage and the need for additional splashboards to be installed.
Will my project require a building permit?
Maybe. Depending upon your local city or county guidelines, you may be required to obtain a building permit. It's your responsibility to obtain any required permits if applicable. Our salesperson can provide additional information regarding permits.
What size posts do you use?
We typically use a .6 cca treated 6×6 post in most of our construction. However, depending upon building specifications, building code requirements, or by customer request, we will use an engineered laminated column. Columns or posts can either be embedded in ground or anchored to a concrete floor/footing.
What if you hit my underground utilities while digging post holes?
Often times despite our best efforts and notification of Missouri One Call, utility lines are hit and damaged. Bilt-Rite Buildings is not liable for the repair of damaged utilities.
